Job Title: Regional Sales Manager
Reports to: Vice President of Sales
Location: South East Region
Responsible for valves and actuation sales within assigned region by maintaining and expanding customer base. Includes sales to wholesaler accounts, new business accounts both wholesaler and OEM, specifying engineers, and related buying factors as assigned by Vice Presidents. Also accountable for manufacturers’ rep management including selection, training and ongoing encouragement. Incumbent will also be involved with market and product research, planning and reporting functions. Travel requirements – up to 75% Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodical and journals. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and customers. Ability to calculate discounts, commissions and percentages as well as general concepts of basics mathematics. Computer skills- Microsoft office software including Word, Power Point, Excel including pivot tables, and outlook. Valid Driver’s License, and Passport in case of international travel Regional Sales Manager Job Duties: Direct sales of all products to selective PVF, HVAC, commercial construction, instrumentation, actuation, specialty OEM’s, gas industry (including utilities and municipalities) and other industrial plumbing business sectors. Sales support and sales accountability for manufacturers’ rep organizations. Working with technical engineers to identify custom needs and develop custom products to select OEMs. Achieves regional sales operational objectives by contributing regional sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining regional sales system improvements; implementing change. Meets regional sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions. Establishes sales objectives by creating a sales plan and quota for different areas amp; segments of assigned region in support of national objectives. Maintains and expands customer base of assigned region. Counsels representatives; building and maintaining rapport with key customers; identifying new customer opportunities. Recommends product lines by identifying new product opportunities, and/or product, packaging, and service changes; surveying consumer needs and trends; tracking competitors. Implements/recommends trade promotions by publishing, tracking, and evaluating trade spending. Participates in national, regional and local trade shows Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks. Accomplishes sales and organization mission by completing related results as needed. Accomplishes regional sales human resource objectives when needed by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and replacing (when needed) representatives in assigned region; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; recommending and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures. Works together with inside sales support to service customer base and improve all aspects of the customer’s satisfaction within assigned region. Keep up to date records via customer relationship management software. Assist in managing account receivables including active collection of over 60 day invoices. Other accountabilities as assigned by Vice Presidents and/or Italy (officers).
