About Your Role: 

Dotdash is seeking a Commerce Production Assistant to help build articles in our CMS across all our brands in a variety of templates, ensuring all content is formatted correctly, images are in the right places (and make sense editorially), as well as incorporating affiliate links to retailers. 

This role will have specific emphasis on editing and managing content in our Dotdash Information Catalog. This Database requires content remediation by vertical to meet the ever evolving needs of our commerce library. You need to be detail oriented and willing to tackle large content clean up projects with organization and project management skills too. This is a contract role that will go full time pending performance.

About Your Contributions: 

  • Work in the new Dotdash Information Catalog to clean up product related content for publishing best in class commerce content across our Dotdash brands.
  • Working knowledge of online retail and all the different ways to find products that are available across various retail sites.
  • Build all new content in the CMS, adding in details like in-text links, images, and a table of contents
  • Collaborate with editors to make product swaps in roundups when needed
  • Use editorial judgment to place pull quotes and images near relevant info in the reviews
  • Edit and build bio pages for the commerce team 
  • Publish all new & updated product testing content in the CMS, including full product reviews and roundups
  • Find quality links based on commerce team standards and adding product links to multiple retailers
  • Previewing and “QA-ing” all final content
  • Adhere to the team’s linking strategy by linking reviews to roundups wherever relevant
  • Find and save product images in the CMS and make determinations on hero images and image order
  • Manage production workflow and stick to tight deadlines
  • Assist team’s Editorial Operations Coordinator in buying products for testing
  • About You:

  • 1-2 years of editorial experience working at a digital publisher or media company
  • Familiarity with content management systems and web publishing tools
  • Strong organizational skills
  • A strong eye for detail and great attention to accuracy
  • An editorial background is preferred but not required
  • Bachelor’s degree required
