 Position Title:  

Professor of Finance (2 Positions) 

Reports to:  

Mathematical and Computational Sciences (College of Business) 

Position Description: 

Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate finance courses and/or courses in a closely related business field, as assigned. Applicants should have a strong commitment to teaching, advising, scholarly activities and university service 

The successful candidate will be expected to meet traditional requirements of excellence in teaching, active scholarly work, and service to the university and community. A teaching load of four classes per semester will typically consist of undergraduate business courses in finance; serving as an academic advisor; developing curricula; engaging in scholarly activity; and providing
professional community, school and university service. The teaching load may be a combination of on-campus courses and distance courses. Instruction in summer courses may also be available. 

Position Responsibilities Include: 

· Faculty members assume an active and collegial role in the planning and governance of the department's activities and expectations.  

· Primary responsibilities will include teaching a variety of undergraduate finance and quantitative courses.  

· In addition, faculty are responsible for advising, participation in curriculum review and development, and assessment of student learning.  

· There is also an expectation of service activity, which includes serving on University and departmental committees. 

· The department expects faculty to conduct scholarly research and be involved in service to the regional business community. 

Position Qualifications: 

The successful candidate will have: 

· A Ph.D. or D.B.A. with a finance emphasis or a related area, preferably from an AACSB accredited School of Business is desired.  

· Business experience is also desirable. 

· Candidates with business experience, quantitative skills, and/or ability to teach in the Information Systems area will be given due consideration.  

· Must possess demonstrated teaching competency and must have a strong commitment to and understanding of, the role of undergraduate business education in a liberal arts environment.  

· Programmatic research and/or a prior record of publishing is essential as we require and support faculty research productivity.
