Position Summary and General Description:

Springer Nature is looking for an eBook Sales Specialist to work within the North American Institutional Sales Team to drive eBook sales growth within academic and governmental accounts. It is a challenging opportunity to work in a market which is often at the forefront of new trends and changes. You will join a motivated and experienced team and will work with colleagues throughout the organization to maintain excellent customer relationships.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Together with Licensing Managers, drive eBook sales growth by expanding the portfolio of customers and eBook products
  • Negotiate and close renewal and new business with an understanding of the margins required
  • Work closely with Licensing Managers to support the negotiation and closing of high-revenue deals (renewal and new business)
  • Provide data analysis to secure renewal and identify opportunities
  • Own regional eBook targets
  • Foster customer engagement with Springer Nature’s eBooks through a high level of interaction including site visits, conferences and presentations as well as telephone and email
  • Maintain a healthy eBook sales pipeline
  • Provide feedback from the market directly to Directors and VP
  • Collaborate with internal departments and staff to ensure sales growth and the development of new sales opportunities
  • Stay abreast of academic eBook industry trends and actively participate in the library/scholarly community
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Qualifications & Experience:

  • Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree with minimum of five (5) years prior sales experience, including direct account management, preferably in the publishing or education sector
  • Knowledge of academic and governmental licensing
  • Self-motivated and with a proven customer-centered approach
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Personable and detail-oriented with strong communication (written and oral), organizational and time management skills
  • Strong computer skills in databases, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required
  • Ability to analyze financial, market and competitive information
  • Ability to travel 30 – 50% domestically
