Position Focus:

Acting with independent judgment and autonomy and employing industry best practices, the Project Manager will strengthen Yale School of Medicines relationship with its generous donors and their families by working with the donor relations team to execute the Yale School of Medicine donor relations program. This will include: managing the scholarship matching and corresponding reporting process; writing and editing annual stewardship reports and other communications; spearheading complex communications projects by liaising between the donor relations team and students, faculty members, development officers, and other university staff; serving as the teams technology expert for database queries, bulk uploads, surveys, etc.; researching and resolving fund-related issues; completing quarterly reviews of new funds and annual audits of existing funds to ensure compliance with reporting requirements; and performing other duties as assigned. Essential Duties

1. Designs, develops, and produces reports to extract information from the Universitys alumni/development information systems. Both ad-hoc reporting and comprehensive analysis/interpretation expected.2. Initiates, develops, and oversees projects that advance the universitys fundraising goals and overall department priorities. Sets and maintains quality standards for each project.3. Manages and expedites the indenture process, serving as one of two primary contacts with the Provosts Office and Gift Administration. Drafts and/or advises on recommended indenture language.4. Provides oversight and direction for staff events sponsored by senior management, including any necessary volunteer support and follow up.5. Serves as liaison to other administrative units such as the Investments Office and Office of the Secretary and Vice President for Student Life.6. Manages and coordinates special initiatives on behalf of the VP and AVP, including fundraising efforts initiated by other units.7. Develops monthly communications newsletter to keep abreast of University, alumni affairs, and development activities for all staff.8. May perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree and three years in a related field or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Required Skill/Ability 1:

Well-developed written and verbal communication skills to include editing skills.

Required Skill/Ability 2:

Excellent research, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Required Skill/Ability 3:

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, effectively partnering with colleagues, administrators and development officers to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Required Skill/Ability 4:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, data exports and queries, sorting and manipulation of Excel worksheets.

Required Skill/Ability 5:

Ability to work in a deadline-oriented production environment with demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changing and/or conflicting priorities. Proactive, self-starter, takes initiative.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:

A degree in Journalism and/or a background in publishing. Experience with Qualtrics and InDesign or other desktop publishing software.
